Best Areas to Rent in Gurgaon for Working Professionals (2026): Rents, Metro and Commute
Where to rent in Gurgaon in 2026: DLF Phases, Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension, Sohna Road, New Gurgaon and more, with typical rents, metro access and commute.

In this article
Gurgaon (officially Gurugram) has more office jobs than almost anywhere in Delhi NCR, and rents to match. Where you live decides how much you pay and how long you sit in traffic every day. This guide compares the main areas working professionals rent in, with typical 2026 rents, metro access and the commute to the big office hubs, so you can shortlist before you start visiting flats.
The rents below are typical asking rents for flats in each area, compiled from 2025–26 listing guides. Actual rents vary a lot by society, floor, furnishing and how new the building is, so treat them as a starting range, not a quote.
Gurgaon areas at a glance
- DLF Phases 1–3: 2 BHK about ₹30,000–85,000. Rapid Metro. Walk or a short ride to Cyber City.
- Golf Course Road (Sectors 42–43, 53–56): 2 BHK about ₹40,000–65,000 and up. Rapid Metro along the road.
- Golf Course Extension Road (Sectors 58–66): 2 BHK about ₹35,000–68,000. No metro yet.

Start with where you work
The most useful filter in Gurgaon is your office. Most professionals work in one of these clusters:
- Cyber City and Cyber Hub (DLF Phase 2–3): live in DLF Phases 1–3, along Golf Course Road, or anywhere on the Rapid Metro.
- Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road offices: live on Golf Course Extension Road, in Sectors 56–57 or on Sohna Road.
- Udyog Vihar and NH-48: live near MG Road, IFFCO Chowk or in Palam Vihar.
- Manesar and IMT: New Gurgaon (Sectors 82–95) keeps the drive short and rents low.
- Working from Delhi some days: stay close to a Yellow Line station (Guru Dronacharya, Sikanderpur, MG Road, IFFCO Chowk or Millennium City Centre).
Gurgaon traffic is heavy at peak hours, especially on NH-48, Golf Course Extension Road and Sohna Road. A flat 5 km closer to work can save you more time than a bigger flat saves you money. Always do your commute once at the time you would actually travel before you book.
DLF Phases 1–3: closest to Cyber City
The DLF phases (Sectors 24–26) are older, established neighbourhoods right next to Cyber City and Cyber Hub. You will find a mix of builder floors, independent houses and a few societies.
- Rent: 2 BHK about ₹30,000–85,000; 3 BHK about ₹45,000–1,10,000. Builder floors are at the lower end.
- Metro: Rapid Metro stations at DLF Phase 1, 2 and 3, with an interchange to the Yellow Line at Sikanderpur.
- Good for: anyone working in Cyber City who wants a walk or a short ride to the office and a lot of cafés and restaurants nearby.
- Keep in mind: older buildings, limited parking on some streets, and builder floors usually have no clubhouse or society security.
Golf Course Road: premium, with Rapid Metro
Golf Course Road (Sectors 42, 43 and 53–56) is lined with high-rise societies, offices and malls. It is one of the most expensive parts of Gurgaon.
- Rent: 2 BHK about ₹40,000–65,000 in mid-range societies; 3 BHK from about ₹65,000 and well over ₹1 lakh in luxury towers.
- Metro: Rapid Metro runs along the road, with stations at Sector 42–43, Sector 53–54, Sector 54 Chowk and Sector 55–56, and connects to Cyber City.
- Good for: higher budgets, families, and anyone who wants a society with full amenities and a metro ride to Cyber City.
Golf Course Extension Road: newer high-rises
Golf Course Extension Road (roughly Sectors 58–66, including 63A and 65) has many newer societies with clubhouses and pools. It has grown quickly as offices and malls have opened along the road.
- Rent: 2 BHK about ₹35,000–68,000; 3 BHK about ₹55,000–1,20,000 depending on the society.
- Metro: none on the road yet. The Rapid Metro at Sector 55–56 is the nearest for the northern end.
- Good for: people working on Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension Road or Sohna Road who want a newer society.
- Keep in mind: you will rely on cabs, autos or your own vehicle, and evening traffic on the road can be slow.
Sector 56–57 and Sushant Lok: central and good value
Sectors 56 and 57 and Sushant Lok 1 sit between Golf Course Road and the old city, with a mix of societies and builder floors.
- Rent: 2 BHK about ₹28,000–50,000; 3 BHK about ₹50,000–80,000.
- Metro: Rapid Metro at Sector 55–56 and Sector 54 Chowk. Parts of Sushant Lok are close to Millennium City Centre and IFFCO Chowk on the Yellow Line.
- Good for: a central location with metro options, at lower rents than Golf Course Road.
MG Road and IFFCO Chowk: on the Yellow Line
The MG Road and IFFCO Chowk side of Gurgaon is older and busier, with malls along MG Road and quick access to NH-48 and Delhi.
- Rent: 2 BHK about ₹28,000–48,000; 3 BHK about ₹45,000–75,000.
- Metro: Yellow Line stations at Guru Dronacharya, Sikanderpur, MG Road, IFFCO Chowk and Millennium City Centre, with a direct line into Delhi.
- Good for: people working in Udyog Vihar or along NH-48, and anyone who travels to Delhi often.
Sohna Road: mid-range, popular with IT teams
Sohna Road (Sectors 47–49, with Sectors 33 and 67–70 nearby) is a long corridor of societies and offices heading south from the city. It is one of the most popular mid-budget areas for renters.
- Rent: 1 BHK about ₹15,000–28,000; 2 BHK about ₹22,000–45,000; 3 BHK about ₹38,000–70,000.
- Metro: none today. The new Gurugram Metro line now under construction will have stations at Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48 and Sector 33, expected around 2028–29. Until then, Millennium City Centre on the Yellow Line is the nearest station.
- Good for: people working on Sohna Road, Golf Course Extension Road or in the sectors around them, on a mid-range budget.
- Keep in mind: the commute to Cyber City can be long at peak hours.
New Gurgaon and Dwarka Expressway: lowest rents in newer societies
New Gurgaon (Sectors 82–95) and the sectors along the Dwarka Expressway (roughly 99–113) are full of recently built societies. Rents are lower because the areas are further from the main office hubs.
- Rent: 2 BHK about ₹15,000–40,000 in New Gurgaon sectors such as 82A, 83, 88A and 89; about ₹30,000–55,000 along the Dwarka Expressway; 3 BHK about ₹25,000–60,000 in New Gurgaon.
- Metro: none yet. The first phase of the new Gurugram Metro, from Millennium City Centre to Sector 101 near the Dwarka Expressway, had its foundation stone laid in September 2025 and is expected around 2028–29. New Gurgaon's Sectors 82–95 are not on that line.
- Good for: people working in Manesar or IMT, anyone driving to the airport via the Dwarka Expressway, and renters who want a new society at a lower rent.
- Keep in mind: some sectors are still developing, so check shops, schools and public transport near the society before you book.
Palam Vihar and Sector 23: budget, near Delhi
Palam Vihar and Sector 23 in old Gurgaon are close to the Delhi border, Dwarka and the airport.
- Rent: 1 BHK about ₹10,000–18,000; 2 BHK about ₹13,000–28,000; 3 BHK about ₹20,000–38,000.
- Metro: no station today. The second phase of the Gurugram Metro, from Sector 9 to Cyber City, plans stations at Palam Vihar and Palam Vihar Extension, but it has no opening date yet.
- Good for: tight budgets, people working near the airport or in Delhi's Dwarka, and anyone who wants an independent floor.
What renting in Gurgaon costs upfront
The monthly rent is only part of it. Before you move in, a typical Gurgaon rental also asks for:
- Security deposit: Haryana sets no fixed limit for most private rentals, so the deposit is negotiated. Two months' rent is common, and some owners ask for more.
- Brokerage: usually one month's rent, sometimes negotiated to 15 days. Our guide to brokerage charges in Delhi NCR explains what you should get for it.
- Maintenance: societies charge a monthly maintenance fee, often per square foot. Ask whether it is included in the rent.
- Power backup and electricity: many societies bill power backup separately. Ask for a recent bill.
On a ₹35,000 flat with a two-month deposit and one month's brokerage, you pay about ₹1,40,000 before you move in. Our move-in cost guide breaks this down, and our guide to rent in Delhi NCR compares Gurgaon with Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi.
Tips before you book a flat in Gurgaon
- Do the commute at peak hour, from the flat to your office, before you pay anything.
- Check the society's rules on bachelors, flatmates, pets and visitors. Many Gurgaon societies are open to working professionals sharing, but some are not.
- Ask about water, power backup and parking, especially in builder floors and newer sectors.
- Get everything in writing: rent, deposit, maintenance, lock-in and notice period, in a rent agreement.
- Complete tenant police verification. In Gurgaon this goes through Haryana Police. Our police verification guide explains how it works across Delhi NCR.
