Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Ease Your Lease collects when you browse our site, enquire about a home, or book with us — and what we do with it. Last updated October 2026.

The short version

We collect the details you give us (like your name, phone number and email) so we can show you relevant homes, process bookings, and keep you updated on your tenancy. We don't sell your data, and we only share what's needed with property owners and the payment partners who process your rent or booking amount.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly — for example when you enquire about a property, create an account, or complete a booking — including your name, phone number, email address, and any documents you choose to share as part of a tenancy application. We also collect basic usage information automatically, such as pages viewed and general device or browser information, to help us understand how people use the site and fix problems.

How we use your information

We use your information to show you relevant listings, respond to enquiries, process bookings and payments, coordinate move-ins with property owners, send you updates about your tenancy, and improve the site. We do not use your information to send you unsolicited marketing from third parties.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum information necessary with the property owner or manager of a home you book or enquire about, so they can confirm availability and complete a tenancy agreement with you. Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay, under their own security and privacy standards — Ease Your Lease does not store your full card or bank account details. We may also share information where required by law.

Cookies

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; turning them off may affect how well parts of the site work.

Analytics and session recordings

We use PostHog, an analytics service, to understand how people use the site so we can keep improving it. It records the pages you visit, how long you stay, where you click and scroll (which we see as heatmaps), and short recordings of how pages were used. Anything you type into a form, such as your phone number, documents or payment details, is hidden before it leaves your device, and we never record your account, payment or document pages. If you're signed in, visits are linked to a random account ID, never your name, email or phone number. Recordings are kept for up to 30 days. This data is stored by PostHog in the European Union and is never sold or used for advertising. To opt out, turn on "Do Not Track" in your browser settings and we'll stop collecting it.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No online service can guarantee complete security, but we work to keep your information as safe as possible.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct inaccurate information, request that we delete your data where we're not required to keep it (for example, for a completed tenancy's legal records), or ask what information we hold about you. Reach out through our Contact page and we'll get back to you.

How long we keep your data

We keep your information for as long as your account or tenancy is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our services change. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
